To check disk space usage on a Linux-based VPS, you can use several terminal commands. The most commonly used and reliable method is the df (disk free) command.
The df command displays information about total, used, and available disk space for mounted file systems. Using the -h option formats the output in a human-readable format (KB, MB, GB).
Basic usage:
df -h
To display the file system type along with disk usage information, use the -T option:
df -T
If you want to check disk usage for a specific directory or mount point, you can specify its path:
df -h /home
Important: Replace /home with the path of the directory or mount point you wish to examine.
